Our History
Casa Colombia is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been proudly serving the Austin community since August 2007. What began as a passion for sharing the rich culinary heritage of Colombia has grown into one of Austin's most beloved destinations for authentic South American cuisine.
In April 2015, we opened our doors at our current location on the east side of I-35 on 7th Street, marking an exciting new chapter for the restaurant. Our expanded space features a full-service bar, a dog-friendly covered patio perfect for outdoor dining, and a private event room available for exclusive hourly rental — ideal for birthdays, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations.
Our kitchen is the heart of Casa Colombia, where time-honored recipes and traditional Colombian cooking techniques come together to create dishes that are as authentic as they are unforgettable. Our menu showcases the diverse, bold flavors that Colombian cuisine is celebrated for — from savory empanadas and golden arepas to hearty soups that warm the soul.
Among our most popular dishes is the bandeja paisa, a generous platter that represents the essence of Colombian comfort food, featuring a carefully crafted combination of grilled steak, rice, beans, chicharrón, fried egg, sweet plantain, avocado, and arepa. Another guest favorite is the bistec a caballo, a perfectly seasoned steak crowned with fried eggs and served alongside rice, beans, and sweet plantains — a classic Colombian preparation that delivers rich, satisfying flavor in every bite.
Every dish that leaves our kitchen is made with care, quality ingredients, and a deep respect for the culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations. Whether you're discovering Colombian cuisine for the first time or savoring the familiar flavors of home, Casa Colombia invites you to pull up a chair, share a meal, and become part of the family.
